PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
I'm a bilingual BPS registered Chartered Counselling Psychologist, HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist and UKCP/BACP registered psychotherapist.
I gained a Doctor in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute and Middlesex University with an IPA (Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis) study about the experiences of Chinese international students seeking mental health support at UK universities.
In general, the difference between psychotherapy training versus counselling psychology training is that the formal has higher requirement of therapist’s own therapy work as well as clinical skills to qualify while the latter demands more academic research skills. I completed trainings in both routes and consider myself to be an experienced evidence-based humanistic clinician.
In addition to clinical work, I am also a UKCP-approved integrative clinical supervisor and hold a Diploma in Integrative Supervision from the Minster Centre.
I'm a BPS Associate Fellow which is awarded in recognition of several years’ experience and contribution to the field of psychology.

I have a Certificate in working with Diversity within Contemporary Relationships, which covers subjects such as gender, sexuality and relationship diversity (GSRD), kink and BDSM, cultural diversities and neurodivergence in sex and relationships.

My previous background is in engineering as well as business analysis in financial services. My first degree was a BSc in Systems Science and Engineering with a concentration in financial and economic systems from the University of Pennsylvania in the US. I later did a postgraduate Conversion Diploma in Psychology from the Open University in the UK to change my career path.
INTERSECTIONALITIES
I practice in both English and Mandarin. I'm originally from Beijing, China, and have lived in the US and the UK for many years with an international outlook. I’m also neurodivergent, queer, auti-gendered, polyamorous and familiar with working with neurodivergence and GSRD.
I am sensitive to power dynamics and the issues of intersectionality and what they mean to our work. I'm passionate about helping clients make sense of and integrate different and potentially conflicting identities from different cultures and experiences.
