PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
I'm a bilingual BPS-registered Chartered Counselling Psychologist, HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist, and UKCP/BACP-registered Psychotherapist.
I gained a Doctor in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute and Middlesex University with an IPA (Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis) study about the experiences of Chinese international students seeking mental health support at UK universities.
In general, the difference between psychotherapy training and counselling psychology training is that the former requires more of the therapist’s own therapy work as well as clinical skills to qualify, while the latter demands more academic research skills. I completed training in both routes and continue to integrate new ways of being with and understanding people.
In addition to clinical work, I am a UKCP-approved integrative clinical supervisor and hold a Diploma in Integrative Supervision from the Minster Centre.
I'm a BPS Associate Fellow awarded in recognition of several years of experience and contribution to the field of psychology.

I have a Certificate in Working with Diversity within Contemporary Relationships, which covers gender, sexuality, relationship diversity (GSRD), kink and BDSM, cultural diversities, and neurodivergence in sex and relationships.

I am currently training in Group Analysis to gain a deeper understanding of social matrices, collective unconsciousness, and how they impact individual work.

My previous background is in engineering and business analysis in financial services. My first degree was a BSc in Systems Science and Engineering with a concentration in financial and economic systems from the University of Pennsylvania in the US.
INTERSECTIONALITIES
I practice in both English and Mandarin. I'm originally from Beijing, China, and have lived in the US and the UK for many years with an international outlook. I’m also neurodivergent and queer, and familiar with working with neurodivergence and GSRD.
I am sensitive to power dynamics and the issues of intersectionality, understanding their significance in our work. I'm passionate about helping clients make sense of and integrate different, potentially conflicting identities from diverse cultures and experiences.

I am a spiritual person, and I bring the transpersonal dimension into my work, understanding how body, emotions, mind, and spirit connect in all of us.
